Privacy in Virtual Reality

With an interdisciplinary team at Cornell, we study how privacy behavior changes in immersive virtual reality. Taking as a starting point the fact that humans have different stimuli in digital environments to manage their information, we pose that VR generates a whole new set of challenges.

We study how humans can (or cannot) guess personal information from one another, their perception of anonymity, and how differences between perception and ability influence privacy behavior.

Here is a note highlighting some preliminary findings of our pilot study.
